he current owners of this contemporary Hermosa Beach
home—a licensed contractor and a celebrated veterinarian,
author and public speaker, respectively—spent four years look-
ing for the ideal spot for their new custom residence. eir

views. ey wound up finding the ideal setting on a site that held a 1921
beach bungalow, and then proceeded to deconstruct it (donating the
materials to an affordable-housing nonprofit in Mexico) and create a
truly one-of-a-kind, sleek and sexy dwelling just four houses away from
the beach, complete with rare unobstructed ocean views free of any tele-
phone poles or lines, as well as a wealth of beautiful and eco-friendly
products that earned it a well-deserved LEED Silver certification from
the Green Building Council.
As for their vision when designing the home, the couple strived for
