Luxford Investment Group. "The cascading waterfall
was inspired by my trip to Big Sur, the open atrium.
. . and the imported 150-year-old ancient olive tree
by my coming of age in Italy and love of its natural
beauty. I have always envisioned this house would be
architecturally grand with striking features and we've
accomplished that through the use of [the] cantilever
structure of the house."
After a six-year development, the 18,000-square-foot
house—off ered at $65,000,000 or Bitcoin equivalent—
is a true gem where California modernism and
contemporary ultra-luxe meet. Inspired by the elements
of life and how they all work together, the project's
name is Elementi. "I wanted a holistic harmonious
atmosphere that represented the merging of the natural
and man- made worlds," Chen says. "While we have
a lot of marble in this house, we complement it with
quality wood fi nishes."
The earthy colors contribute to highlight the pristine
surrounding nature while giving the feeling of warmth
and comfort throughout. The fl oating marble bridge-
like entrance leading to a towering front door that
reveals panoramic views of Century City and the
Pacifi c Ocean, the spectacular master quarter that
cantilevers over the balcony, the Venetian plastered
spiral staircase providing access to the daylight
basement, the 2,000 bottle wine cellar and the half-
length Olympic size swimming lane integrated into
the pool are some of the many elements that make this
seven-bedroom house truly unique. "We were able to
create an environment that merged the traditional ideas
of indoors and outdoors into one," Chen says. "It is
natural West Coast luxury as it should be."
In world-class Beverly Hills enclave Trousdale Estates, this architectural masterpiece
was created by Michael Chen from Luxford Group in collaboration with SAOTA.
