is, however, decidedly of a modern bent,
highlighting a high-fashion, low-key fusion of
polished metals, hard and glazed surfaces,
woven textures, and rich woods, all backed
by bursts of brilliant green growth set
against earthy hues. Adornment is simple
yet lovely and exceptionally well edited,
making every piece, from intricately carved
antique furnishings to Moroccan lanterns,
stand out. Notably, this villa loves to flaunt
its curves—spectacularly in the case of two
LED inlaid staircases grounding the main
wings of the property. The shape, as the
property puts it, represents "the female
divine energy, Shakti, which combines with
the male divine energy, Shiva." That every
design decision feels especially deliberate
helps create a space that, while refined, is,
like Bali itself, overwhelmingly at ease.
This is in part due the villa's open and
airy arrangement of spaces, including
a mingling of multiple living areas and
social alcoves throughout. Of the villa's six
bedrooms, each is fitted with floor to ceil-
ing glass windows offering direct access
to the garden, pool, and terraces, as well
as en-suite baths finished in green Indian
marble with custom-design double sinks
and brushed brass hardware from Germany.
The master bedroom suite, meanwhile, is a
showcase with a shower design situated in
the middle of the room; encased in floor to
ceiling glass, its double showerheads were
selected for their calming rainfall effect.
Public spaces, including an enclosed living
space that flows into the garden, a cinema
and children's playroom, are also thought-
fully arrayed. These include a handsome
commercial service kitchen as well as a
sleek guest kitchen finished with granite
so that the grain mirrors the surf waves of
Canggu. Outside is a Balinese dream: a
white terrazzo pool with transparent glass
wall featuring a pool bar and extensive roof
terraces complete with a solid teak pool
table and yoga shala. In the spirit of Bali,
how absolutely divine. theturiyabali.com
