Coastal living
This 3,500 sq ft single family walk street home will consist of 5
bedrooms, 5 baths, music room and expansive south-facing deck.
This major remodel will include the use of traditional materials
including used brick, beveled-siding and standing seam roofs to create
a one-of-a-kind coastal retreat. Features include exterior breezeway
patio with built-in seating and fire pit, surfboard storage and outdoor
deck with BBQ and fireplace.
SWEEPING OCEAN VIEWS
A ground-up construction project, design by Sander Architects,
located on a sand section walk street where innovative design creates
a modernist structure relaxed by the extensive use of exterior wood
materials. The three-story glazing on the walk street creates a
dramatic entrance for arriving guests, emphasized by the two-story
interior space that rises up the far side of the stairs. There are two
façades that ask for extensive glazing and two that ask for privacy. The
downhill side of the house faces the ocean, the west side of the house
faces the walk street. This evolved into two "open" and two "closed"
treatments unified by the way the glass / solid panels create a rhythm
as they wrap the house.
SMALL HOUSE DESIGN
This small house design challenge currently in deisgn will consist of
approximately 800 sq ft on a typical (less than) half lot. The home will
contain ingenious design elements including folding beds, storage and
natural daylighting.
