Michael Lee Architects
Founded in 1991, Michael Lee Architects, a long-standing architectural and design firm based in the South Bay and Westside
of Los Angeles, focuses primarily on residential and small commercial projects. With an emphasis on adhering to the vision
of both client and architect, the firm is able to transition between modern and traditional styles. Two works currently
in progress—the sleek, sophisticated Amalfi Residence and the elegantly modern Chenault Residence—perfectly reflect
Michael Lee Architects' commitment to capturing the potential beauty of every home.
Both the Amalfi and Chenault projects are being built for the same developer on the Westside of Los Angeles. They are in
the design development phase and are expected to be complete by Spring 2017.
For both projects, the vision is for their large interior spaces to be separated and defined by planes of natural materials:
stone for walls, wood for ceilings. The interior spaces will face city views, or tree-lined pools and courtyards with abundant
natural light filtered in through large glass doors and windows. A distinctive, modern sensibility will be tempered by the
warmth of the natural materials. The three interior levels of each residence will be centered around dramatic stairwells
topped by grand linear skylights.
