built-in upper cabinets over the sink, so
that the view is unobstructed (cabinets
are below the sink with storage on
either side to conceal appliances; copper
pots hang above the stove). Plumbing
'xtures and hardware is unlacquered
brass. Floors are white oak, bleached to
complement the home's chalky white
tones; on the mantel in the breakfast area
is a collection of antique breadboards.
"•ings that are pretty and utilitarian, we
display in full view," says Brooke.
